Debra has been ADOPTED!!!
Deborah - Fostered from Irving shelter on 11/26/13
Tuesday was a sad day at our house since we said goodbye to our month-long house guest, Tyler. He was a joy! I found out during drop off there was a little puppy that had been at the shelter a month that was approved for Love on Wheels so I decided to give it a go. She is a border collie mix, with Tuxedo coloring (Like CLYDE FROG) only about 15 lbs. When I picked her up, I could tell she was very shy. I don't know her past situation, but the poor little doll seems afraid of everything! We are going to have to work on building up her confidence!
She is eating well and know we are going to have to work hard to make sure she doesn't have accidents in the house since she is only a few months old. She does well in her crate, but the poor little thing whines at first! She wants to play with my dogs, but I can tell she is really afraid of them. We only have until December 9th to get her ready to go, but we will do what we can! She is a sweet little girl that loves to be held! Obviously she takes beautiful photographs!
What a difference a week makes! This little girl has completely changed! She is so full of energy now and is no longer the scared little puppy we brought home last week! She went today to for her full Vet Work up including spay and is doing very well. She is getting along well with the other dogs and such a sweet soul! She has even lost a few of her puppy teeth! I have been watching for it! This little girl is a dynamo in front of a camera and ALL PUPPY! I had forgotten how nice it is to have a puppy in the house! It has been a joy. She is very good with potty training and has had only one accident in the house and none in her crate! Look at the beautiful face and tell me you wont RUN down to adopt this beauty! I can't stand the thought of her leaving us so soon :(
Week 2 - Debbie goes to NY
It has been a crazy last week here in Texas! We had the ice Apocalypse 2013! We have been covered in ICE and north Texas has been shut down almost 5 days! Debbie did very well in the ice! She loved to play outside with the other dogs. She has really opened up since we first brought her home! She is playing and jumping and interacting with all of my other dogs. It is hard to imagine she was such a shy little girl when we first brought her home from the shelter. We even treated her with sleeping in the bed a few nights :)
She is very good at not pottying in her crate, but you must take her out very frequently when she is not in her crate! She has a very healthy appetite and LOVES food! We have been feeding her Pulsar by Horizon and she already looks healthier! You do want to keep a close eye on her! She is all puppy and always wants to get into something :) BUT that is to be expected. I was a little nervous about having a puppy here, but honestly I have missed the sweet puppy breath and constant gnawing on my fingers! :) She is such a sweetie! She does get very cold so will probably need a jacket or sweater to be comfortable in NY! We will be praying this sweet girl finds a home soon, but I can't imagine that she will be without one for long! We will miss you Little Debbie!!!!!
